Please read these Terms carefully. By using MKDSCPLS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to MKDSCPLS. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MKDSCPLS platform, including our websites at mkdscpls.com and go.mkdscpls.com, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account, accessing, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MKDSCPLS.

2. Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • If under 18, have parental or guardian consent
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • Not be prohibited from using the Services under applicable laws

For mission trip participation, additional age-related requirements may apply. Minors must have their parent or legal guardian create a guardian account to consent to participation and access their information.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access most features of our Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information as needed
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Types

Our platform includes various account types with different permissions:

  • Participant: Standard user accounts for course participation
  • Leader: Group and course leaders with additional access to participant progress
  • Organization Admin: Administrators managing organizations and their members
  • Guardian: Parents or guardians with oversight of minor participants

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We recommend:

  • Using a strong, unique password
  • Not sharing your login credentials
  • Logging out when using shared devices

4. Our Services

MKDSCPLS provides:

4.1 Discipleship Platform

  • Online courses and curriculum for spiritual growth
  • Group-based learning and discussion
  • Reading plans and scripture memory tools
  • Progress tracking and reflection journals

4.2 GO Mission Trip Platform

  • Mission trip registration and management
  • Fundraising tools and donation processing
  • Document management and e-signatures
  • Team communication and coordination
  • Trip logistics and travel information

4.3 Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable Services but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

  • Perform maintenance with or without notice
  • Modify or discontinue features
  • Experience outages beyond our control

5. User Conduct

When using our Services, you agree NOT to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Share false, misleading, or deceptive information
  • Harass, bully, threaten, or harm other users
  • Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or abusive
  • Share sexually explicit or violent content
  • Spam, phish, or distribute malware
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services
  • Scrape or collect data without permission
  • Use the Services for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Circumvent any access restrictions or security measures

Faith Community Standards: As a faith-based platform, we expect users to engage respectfully with diverse perspectives within the Christian tradition. Discussions should be constructive and grace-filled, even when disagreements arise.

6. User Content

6.1 Your Content

You may submit content including course responses, journal entries, prayer requests, discussion posts, and profile information ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but grant us a license to use it as described below.

6.2 License to MKDSCPLS

By submitting User Content, you grant MKDSCPLS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Store, display, and distribute your content within the Services
  • Share your content with leaders and administrators as necessary for the Services
  • Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our Services

6.3 Content Visibility

Different types of content have different visibility:

  • Private: Journal entries and personal reflections (visible only to you and authorized leaders)
  • Group: Discussion posts and shared responses (visible to group members)
  • Public: Fundraising profiles (visible to potential donors)

6.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. You may delete your own content, though some may persist in backups or if shared with others.

7. Donations and Payments

7.1 Mission Trip Donations

Donations made through our platform to support mission trip participants are:

  • Processed securely through Stripe
  • Subject to the receiving organization's policies
  • Generally designated for the specified participant or trip
  • May be tax-deductible (consult the organization and your tax advisor)

7.2 Refund Policy

Donation and payment refunds are handled according to the policies of the receiving organization. Generally:

  • Donations may not be refundable once processed
  • Trip registration fees may have specific refund deadlines
  • Contact the trip organizer or organization for refund requests

7.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By making payments, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. MKDSCPLS does not store your complete credit card information.

8. Mission Trip Participation

8.1 Application and Acceptance

Trip participation is subject to:

  • Completion of the application process
  • Approval by trip leaders or organization
  • Meeting all trip requirements (background checks, documents, payments)
  • Agreement to trip-specific terms and waivers

8.2 Participant Responsibilities

As a trip participant, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate personal and travel information
  • Obtaining required travel documents (passport, visas)
  • Meeting payment deadlines
  • Completing required training or preparation courses
  • Following trip guidelines and leader instructions
  • Maintaining appropriate travel insurance (recommended)

8.3 Trip Modifications and Cancellations

Trip organizers may modify or cancel trips due to:

  • Safety concerns or travel advisories
  • Insufficient participation
  • Partner organization changes
  • Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.)

Refund policies for cancellations are determined by the organizing entity.

8.4 Assumption of Risk

Important: International travel and mission trip activities involve inherent risks. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree to any liability waivers required by trip organizers. MKDSCPLS is a platform provider and is not the trip organizer or operator.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 MKDSCPLS Content

The Services, including software, design, text, graphics, logos, and course content created by MKDSCPLS, are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
  • Use our trademarks without authorization
  • Reverse engineer our software
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

9.2 Third-Party Content

Some content on our platform is provided by organizations, leaders, or third parties. Such content remains the property of its respective owners.

9.3 Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about our Services, you grant us the right to use such feedback without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We specifically disclaim warranties regarding:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Merchantability
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or reliability of content
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Results from using the Services

10.1 Spiritual Content

Course content and materials are provided for educational and spiritual growth purposes. They do not constitute professional counseling, therapy, or medical advice. If you are experiencing a crisis, please seek appropriate professional help.

10.2 Third-Party Links

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MKDSCPLS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
  • Damages resulting from third-party conduct or content
  • Damages arising from mission trip activities or travel

Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amounts paid by you to MKDSCPLS in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MKDSCPLS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your User Content
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account settings. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Services ceases immediately
  • Some information may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy
  • Content you shared with others may persist

13.2 By MKDSCPLS

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Create risk or legal exposure for us
  • Fail to respond to repeated communications

We will generally provide notice before termination unless immediate action is required for safety or legal reasons.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve disputes informally for at least 30 days.

14.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes not resolved informally shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia. You consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any trip-specific agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and MKDSCPLS.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or successor.

15.5 Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
