Creating a Discipleship Group
Discipleship groups help you lead people through Bible studies, reading plans, and courses together. Organization admins, leaders, and finance roles can create groups.
Creating from My Groups
- Go to My Groups on the dashboard
- Click "+ Create Group"
- Enter a group name, type, and optional meeting details
- Click Create Group — you are automatically added as the leader
Adding Members
- Click Manage Group on your group card
- Use the Add existing member dropdown to add people from your organization
- Or use Invite by Email to invite someone new
- Set member roles (Participant, Leader, or Co-Leader)
Trip Discipleship Groups
If you are a trip leader on the GO Mission Trips platform, you can create a discipleship group directly from the Discipleship tab on your trip page. This automatically links the group to the trip and enrolls all team members, making it easy to assign pre-trip reading plans and courses.
What You Can Do
- Assign Reading Plans — choose from a library of Bible reading plans for your group
- Assign Courses — enroll your group in discipleship courses
- Track Progress — see who is keeping up with assigned material
- Schedule Sessions — set up meeting times and track attendance
Managing Your Group
- Click Manage Group to view members, add/remove people, and schedule sessions
- Group leaders can delete their own groups using the trash icon
- Deleting a group soft-removes it — member data is preserved
