Editing Trip Details
Trip leaders and org admins can update trip details at any time from the Edit Trip page. Access it by clicking the edit icon or "Edit Trip" button from your trip's detail page.
What You Can Edit
- Basic Information — trip name, description, destination country, and location details. The description appears on your public trip page, so make it compelling for potential applicants
- Trip Dates — departure and return dates. Changing dates after team members have booked flights may cause confusion, so communicate changes clearly
- Cost & Fees — per-person trip cost, required deposit amount, and payment deadline dates. These determine what appears on fundraising pages and payment schedules
- Application Settings — enable or disable the application form, add custom questions, set an application deadline, and control whether applications auto-close when the team is full
- Trip Visibility — toggle between public (discoverable on Find Your Trip) and private (only accessible via direct link or invitation)
- Hero Image — upload a banner image that appears on your trip's public page and fundraising pages
Important Notes
- Save explicitly — changes are not saved automatically. Click the Save button when you're done editing
- Cost changes — updating the trip cost does not retroactively adjust existing team members' fundraising goals. You'll need to update individual goals on the Fundraising tab if needed
- Trip URL — the trip slug (the URL-friendly name) is set when the trip is created and cannot be changed afterward
- Permissions — only trip leaders and org admins can access the Edit Trip page. Co-leaders with appropriate permissions can also make changes
Best Practices
- Write a clear, inviting trip description that explains the mission focus and what participants will experience
- Set realistic deposit and payment deadlines — these drive the milestone emails your team receives
- Upload a high-quality hero image (at least 1200px wide) to make your trip page stand out
- If you need to make significant changes after people have applied, send a trip update announcement so everyone stays informed
