How Team Donations Are Split
When a donor gives to the team rather than a specific individual, that donation is split evenly among eligible fundraisers.
Who Receives a Share?
Team donations are only distributed to participants who are actively fundraising with a goal greater than $0. The following are excluded from splits:
- Self-funded participants — they're paying their own way
- Exempt participants — they have no fundraising need
- Team Covered participants — the organization is paying for them
- Support staff (non-traveling) — they typically don't have fundraising goals
- Anyone with a $0 goal
How the Split Works
The donation amount is divided equally among all eligible fundraisers. For example:
- $500 team donation with 5 eligible fundraisers = $100 each
- The split is recorded so each participant's fundraising progress is updated

You can see how each team donation was distributed in the Donations tab. Each donation entry shows who received a share and how much.
